On February 6th 2023, a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Southern Turkey near the Syrian border, resulting in thousands of people losing their lives or being seriously injured. In the aftermath of the earthquake, we partnered with the International Rescue Committee by making a donation to help them with their immediate response in Turkey and Syria. The IRC used donations to provide essential health services, cash assistance, basic items and emergency protection services.
The civil war in Sudan displaced countless individuals in 2023. Access for Good joined forces with UNICEF to offer crucial support. The partnership aimed to bring assistance to the displaced, using our donation to bring essential resources, education, and a sense of hope for the future for those affected in Sudan.
On October 7th, Western Afghanistan experienced three 6.3 magnitude earthquakes. Soon after, they experienced several aftershocks. The earthquake in Herat, Afghanistan, left devastation in its wake. Access for Good partnered with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) so to extend a helping hand to those affected. In the wake of the earthquakes, Doctors Without Borders were using donations to provide essential medical care to those injured by the earthquakes and aftershocks. They also worked tirelessly to find shelter for those who have lost everything.
Access for Good maintained a year-long partnership with unConnected throughout 2023. The aim of our partnership was to help provide access to education in Indonesia, Nigeria and Malawi. The collaboration sought to break barriers and empower individuals through technology, fostering a brighter future for communities with limited resources.
SIM cards, airtime and data become lifelines for individuals at the Mexico and USA border. Our Access for Good initiative donated to unConnected who provide migrants at the USA border with mobile phones, sim cards, airtime and data. This provides migrants with an essential tool to start seeking a new life in the USA but also helps them keep in contact with loved ones at home.
