Calling Haiti: How Haitians use their smartphones (infographic)

Calling Haiti: How Haitians use their smartphones (infographic)

It’s no secret that Haitians enjoy their smartphones.

No matter where they might be in the world, many people from this Caribbean nation enjoy nothing more than a long chat to a best friend back home or hours spent catching up with friends on Facebook.

Don’t believe us?! We asked a number of our Haitian customers at Ding (the world’s largest international mobile recharge service) how they liked to use their phones.

Of all of the people we surveyed, 93% owned a smartphone.

40% of these cited WhatsApp as their number one when it came to staying in touch with loved ones. This was followed closely by calling Haiti and sending texts.

62% said that the first person they would call with good news was a spouse and 82% would use their phone to make an online purchase.
